I just received an answer to a question and there was no option to mark it as an Asker's Pick. Why wasn't there?

You're reading Why do I keep getting downrates for answering questions that are wrongly placed under the Homework section? Should I start answering such miscategorized questions with "do your own homework" to rack up 24 points or more?

If that's the case, I will not stop.
I've learned so much from answering such questions.

Me, too. I kinda like homework questions TBH. I don't know most of the answers, though:(

I especially disdain DYOH answers. What's the point? Do they really have to answer such questions if they really don't want to?

I bet deep-down inside, there's a bit of, "Humph. Nobody helped me with my homework when I was growing up. Grrrr." The "I had it rough, so no one else should have it any easier now." mindset. Just a theory, though.

That's what I think too.
Those people are mistaken if they believe that we make life easier for kids by answering their homework. They fail to realize that eventually, kids have to be on their own.
