I live in the country and have a rather large yard..I also LOVE trees. I have never counted them, but I would estimate about 40 are actually IN my yard and thousands all around it. I have about 20 acres..of which 95% or more is trees.

I'm so jealous of the guy who can raise tropical plants outside year round. I removed 6 cottonwoods when I moved in and planted about 27 including 10 apple ,1 pear , 2 apricot, 3 maples, 1 sour cherry, 4 magnolias, 3 spruce, 1 pin oak, 1 meta seqouia, and 1 hemlock. All on 1/3 acre. Plus lots of vines and roses and stuff and a garden. Way to much stuff.

4 Hickory trees 3 Oaks 3 Maple 10 Dogwood 4 Redbud 1 Eucalyptus And I still have plenty of sun for gardening!!

We've got two maples, one Norway Elm, an ancient and venerable dogwood and a black cherry.

1 hawthorn, 1 poplar, 1 rowan, 1 maple, 2 cherries and a half-dead thing (Canadensis something or other) that was meant to be able to withstand windy conditions but clearly can't ... sorry can't remember the name but it is supposed to smell like candyfloss :-)
