  • Well that's an easy one. For a beginner what you want to do is first fool around with your mouse sensitivity in the options/mouse menu until you get a good feel of what you want. After that your ready to start. What you want to do is play DeathMatch (DM) as much as you can so you get a feel of the action and non stop shooting. DM will also help you get used to your mouse sensitivity. [You can find DM servers at this site: www.gametiger.com just click server, then select your version of CS, The type Deathmatch.] Next, play at some AIM maps. Like aim_ak_colt. These maps in my opinion are a little overated but they still help. Also, try to get into a clan. Start off with an easy clan that is either new, experimenting with new players, or taking anyone. This will set yourself a goal. Some clans aren't always looking to be compettitive, and just want people to have fun. Therefore, they won't care how good you are. But always give it your best shot. Finally, once in a clan, scrim. Ask to be in scrims (which are matches between clans) and try to scirm often. Scrimming is a great way to get better. If you manage to get in a clan with experienced players, listen to them because they know what they are talking about. In scrims their are many strats (or plays) they clans run. Strats teach you a lot about the game and also show you different things that can be done. This goes along with my biggest tip, be a smart player. You could be doing everything i just recommended but still after a while seeing not even the slighest change. BE SMART. Use your sound logicly, if you hear footsteps to your left, he is probally to your left. If your getting shot from behind, look behind you. If someone has been camping in the same corner every round, check that corner. In conclusion, my best tips are: -Play Deathmatch - Scrim - Play AIM maps every now and then - Be Smart and most importantly -PLAY, and HAVE FUN!
  • Use an automatic gun. Guns like the awp, scout, shotgun take a little practice. A good start-out gun is an "smg" because the crosshair doesnt get to big. They are more accurate.
  • There are many CS guides available on the internet. I suggest you read one of them. Here is a summary: 1: learn to burst fire (hold down fire for no more than 1 second at a time) unless the enemy is close 2: learn to strafe while firing 3: learn the guns and the equipment 4: learn the map 5: have fun. you're playing the most popular game in the world!
  • Play a lot! Also I would recommend learning when to fight and when not to fight. There are some battles that you have little hope of winning and you'd be better off not to fight if your opponent isn't directly threatening your objective. Other then that I wouldn't ask me, I used to be pretty good with CS and Condition Zero. I started playing Source and I'm suddenly horrible. Not sure why.
  • The MOST useful thing for new players in counterstrike: rtfm = read the #$&##ing manual and plz dun camp:D
  • If you are planning on trying out the Warcraft 3 mod for CS (just look for servers that say WC3 or Warcraft), and I highly recommend it by the way, then you should check this site out: www.war3help.tk It's a good spot that got me started. Other sites are csbanana.com, and work out from there. Basically, don't get ahead of youself. DO what you can, and learn from others. It takes time and practice but it will pay off. Good Luck (and buy a wrist brace in advance)
