You think your doctor wants you coughing on him? I don't actually know. I assume it tightens up a tendon or something down below.

Are you asking about when a doctor asks you to turn your head and cough? You cough because when you do a vibration runs down your spine. The doctor feels at the bases of your testicles to make sure that you don't have any herniated discs. You have to turn your head to tighten up the muscles of the neck so that the vibration can travel down the spine better. Also, the doctor is usually in front of you and if you didn't turn you would cough on his head.
