well I would still use any force I deem necessary to defend my home from an unknown intruder, and law be damned. You never know if someone is armed, or what their intentions are. My right to defend my family, home and property is more important than laws that have been changed to protect the intruders. Hell, did you know that if a burglar trips and breaks his leg over my table, he can sue me! It is the victim that should have he most rights, not the one perpetrating the crime.

Yes, you can sue for anything, but the intruder would no win. There has never been a case upheld on appeal where an intruder successfully sued a homeowner. You can use any force you want, but the law does not protect you. If shooting an unarmed intruder is worth spending the rest of your life in jail (or at a minimum, hefty lawyers fees defending yourself), that is your call to make.
