  • You have a big problem. If my thinking is right on this, your pushrod has fallen, then been crushed, then ground up in the engine. As anyone knows, loose metal inside an engine is bad. From what I see in your question that's what I think has happened. In that case you could have some big bills ahead.
  • yes some times your lifters can break and drop a push rod best thing to do is take them out and replace them possibly others can break too and destroy your engine
  • well, i disembled the engine and the timinmg gears are still aligned (i thought it might have slipped a gear causing the pushrods to bend). i found the two pushrods intact, so no ground metal. i was going to just replace the pushrods but now maybe i should replace lifter as well? any thoughts?
  • WHERE WERE THE PUSH-RODS FOUND??IN CYL OR TOP OF THE HEAD??HOW DID THEY COME OUT??THESE 2 RODS HAVE TO BE DAMAGED,LIFTER MOST LIKLY BUT DOESNT HAVE TO BE,ROCKER ARM MIGHT BE ALSO,CRACKED OR BENT??NOW,WAS ENGINE RUNNING WITH THESE RODS LOOSE??IF THEY WERE IN THE CYL.,YOUR HEAD HAS TO BE DAMAGED,ALONG WITH THE VALVES IN THE HEAD AND ADDITIONAL DAMAGE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE CYL WALL.HOPE NOT.GOOD LUCK PS-CHANGE ALL PUSHRODS ON ENGINE.THESE DO SUPPLY THE OIL TO YOUR HEAD,VALVES,TOP OF THE ENGINE
