Not all racists are white.
-
racism isn't exclusive to one race.
-
they don't that's just the main idea in america because of all the bad history, and the fact that even though white's aren't considered a minority, they're definitely not a "majority" in some cases anymore. racism gets in all races sadly
-
i know for sure that not all racist are white. but why is it that no one ever openly accuses blacks, hispanics, asians, etc. racists, of being racist, even if they are. like how it is okay for a black person to tell a white joke but heaven forbid a white person tell a black joke. why?
-
An overabundance of representatives?
-
If you want to see real racism, go to India or Africa. People you would not be able to tell any difference between have ancient hatreds for each other.
-
Don't forget Jesse Jackson, Al sharpton, and Calypso Louie. They would not exist were it not for their promoting racism.
-
The black panther party was formed in response to the brutal attacks of white hate groups such as the kkk, the police, and ordinary white citizens. If you back track through history and look at the conditions that existed in the 60's,50s,40s,ect. for blacks, one can understand why the black panther party was formed. Blacks were subjected to lynchings, segregation, police brutality and other forms of violent oppression from whites. And why? Simply because of the color of their skins. So one can't blame if a people decides to form a group who's purpose is to protect themselves. If whites were subjected to this same treatment, I'm sure they would form some group also to protect themselves
-
Racism knows no race.
-
I've met racists of every color. I dont' think people see them as one color
-
Racism is present in every culture and society. Look at what comedian Russell Peters says about this.
-
Fact check Black Panther's not racist they moved on to denounce Black Nationalism the New Black Panther Party is who is racist. But to answer your question anyone can be racist.
-
Anyone can be racist, it's not right. But to answer your question,it might have something to do with the way whites treated anyone that wasn't white in the past, just a guess..... History, whether positive or negative, always has an effect on the present and future. You can't just have something extremely tragic or wonderful happen in the past, then teach people about it and expect no one to have their own personal feelings about it.
-
'Why do people always believe that racists are white'. They don't.
-
They have a pretty good reason to be. unfortunatley, the cycle never ends
-
anyone can be racist but the reason why we always assume it's whites is because it was whites who sort of founded racism way back then.
-
Racist is a state of mind not a colour of skin!
-
Just my observation. North US is less racist than the south, black or white. In the south is where racism is more obvious but I saw more racist black people than racist white. Another observation is that cops treat black people worse, than others. But for a black person it is better to have a white landlord. But you can't really generalize. I hate making differences by the tone of the skin.
-
Everyone regardless of race are racists. Society has created greater visibility to whites being racist because of the documented history of slavery and oppression which began long before we were born. Look at Pakistan and India. They are close cousins and they hate and kill each other. Look at skinheads and what they "were" known to stand for. The treatment of Mexican-Americans and the sterotypes they work hard to eliminate.
-
I disagree with the premise of your question...plenty of folks believe that all kinds of people are racist - black, white, Latino, Asian, etc...
-
Most people don't really believe that. But the reason some people might...It wasn't Blacks or Natives or Asians who went on crusades to colonize and "civilize" entire foreign continents. It was you-know-who. Even when Black, Native, or Asian powers colonized other nations, it was almost always neighbouring lands: Japan > Korea; Mexico > Cuba; Congo > Angola;
-
Racism = power + prejudice. In western countries, people of colour are not the ones with the power, white people are. Therefore they can be prejudice, but not racist. And FYI, the Black Panther Party were not racist. They were responding to an extremely racist society.
-
Each race has their own sub-group of extreme racism. Whites have their neo-nazi groups, blacks have their Nation of Islam (not to be confused with Islam the religion), etc... In the U.S. however, it far, far easier to get away with being a racist if you're black or hispanic, than if you're white.
-
Black people are just as likely to be racist as white people, hispanic people, etc.. Racism is everywhere in every culture.
-
Because people are stupid.
-
Who knows? So... ...which one of us was supposed to bring the burning cross?

I think that society is so affraid of offending the African Americans because of slavery that we try to baby them. Yes what happened to them was horrible but that was not the first act of slavery that ever happened. The Nazi's wipped out millions of jews and you dont see the jews walking around saying that they are supressed so they cant succeed in life. African Americans have BET ( Black Entertainment TV) and if whites where to have WET there would be an uproar.
-
Are you kidding with this? Every race has racists. People are capable of the same characteristics no matter what race they are, which is why racisim needs to bite the dust.
-
I think that society is so afraid of offending the African Americans because of slavery that we try to baby them. Yes what happened to them was horrible but that was not the first act of slavery that ever happened. African Americans have BET ( Black Entertainment TV) and if whites where to have WET there would be an uproar. The Nazi's wiped out millions of Jews and you dont see the Jews getting special privileges. When entering college African Americans and Hispanics get more points for admission . That is basically saying that they are not smart enough to get into college on there own. I personally took a college English entry exam on a computer and said I was Asian each time and I failed three times in a row. The fourth time I said I was African American and I only had to take half the test and there was no grammar in it. That is racist in it self. Letting African Americans have easier tests because of what?….. Every one should be tested the same stuff and get graded the same way. After Pearl Harbor, America most of the Japanese population in Internment Camps. They stripped families of all of there possessions and put them in camps where they world for barely enough wage to live on. Barely anything to eat and then when they were done they threw them back out to society with nothing. Do they get special privileges? NO. People are so caught up on getting what they deserve because of what there “RACE” has gone threw. People of any race can be racist and it will continue to divide people until we start looking past people color or race.
-
Where did you get the assumption that "people" always believe that racists are white? I would think that relatively few people actually believe that ONLY white people are racist. I think that if you conducted a poll on that you would find that this belief is not very common.
-
racism does not even have to be about color, we can racist about many things.
-
bcuz most racist ppl i kno are white...i dunno why white ppl hate colored ppl so much but from my experiences most ppl dat were racist dat werent white was because dey lived in a place where der was a lot of racism and are racist towards ppl dat showed hate towards dem...i myself am mixed and receive alot of racism from only white ppl...which has caused me to hate white ppl but only da racist ones does dat make me racist for hate'n ppl dat hate me...

Not all racista are white! I have met Pakistani Muslims who considered me inferior as a whitw western woman and would not deign to talk to me, and who despised the white people they had come to live among. Nigerian immigrants who treated me like dirt. Asians who would not send their kids to the local school because a lot of Jews went there, so sent them to another one. And Jews who never sent their kids to the other school because they hated the local asian population. Hindus who hated the local Muslims, and vice versa. Black people who think it is ok to criticise people with my colouring (red hair, white skin) for being 'too white' and say that they find all pale white skin repulsive, that black is the only attractive colour. And that is apparently ok, because you can't be racist if you are black, right? As a redhead I have experienced other forms of 'prejudice'. I can't call it 'racism' because my colouring does not define a race (despite the fact that a lot of anti-ginger sentiment stemmed from anti-Irish and anti Scottish feeling (eg the person from the US army that thought it was ok to shout 'fucking little Irish cunt' at me and my mother when I was a child - I'm not Irish, BTW), and people with my colouring have never apparently been persecuted (or only several hundred years ago). And yet I have been told things like 'all redheads have a odd smell or taste horrible' various sexual jokes or slurs relating to my colouring, or that my skin is 'too white' and I should go out and get some fake tan to cover it up because it is offensive. I believe that any race can be prejudiced against another, and any group or individual against another minority - or majority - group. Perhaps, following on from white racism against black people in preceding centuries, and admitting how we treated people in the colonies, we need to open ourselves up to accepting a wider definition of prejudice that can move in many directions, now that we are in the 21st century. I think most people already accept this. I should add that the vast majority of all groups I have met have been lovely :-)

It can easily be argued that their are far more black racists then there are white ones.
