  • Both wants. However, if one were to be a need, then probably a computer.
  • both freely given depending who you work for.
  • Need. At the pace business moves today you wouldn't be able to keep up without using one or the either.
  • In my professional career, they are both a need to accomplish my daily tasks... :-)
  • They are still a want, but that's gradually changing as life starts to revolve around new technologies. For instance, in Texas before there was central air conditioning, they build houses so people could get a cross draft and be a little cooler. Now that we have air conditioning, the houses aren't built to allow people to get cooler without air conditioning. You used to see pay phones all over the place. But now, it's rare that you see one. So while you can get by without a cell phone, it's getting more and more difficult. And you can get access to computers at libraries or Kinkos, and other places which became necessary because as time has gone on, kids need to be able to use computers to complete their homework. I could easily see a time in the future when kids will have to have computers at home in order to complete their school work.
  • To me they are a necessity for my work. A need for my pleasure and convenience.
  • I feel that a computer is a want unless your career depends on it. Nearly all cities have a computer lab that is easily accessible. A cell phone now days is a NEED. That is one of the most useful inventions in history. I dont mean as a secondary phone that is used all of the time. I do think that EVERYBODY should carry a cell phone (even prepaid) with some airtime on it in case of emergencies. My prepaid that I had not used in 2 months was a lifesaver when I broke down in the middle of nowhere.
  • The PC is turning into as much of an essential need as a stove; you CAN get by without one but not easily. Cell phones are pretty much unnecessary for personal use; the only time they are NEEDED is as an occupational thing.
  • Wants and needs :)
