  • harlem nights.
  • Maybe Dr. Doolittle.
  • Raw or Delirious The stand up is sooooo funny.
  • I hate every one of them.
  • I liked "Coming to America" and "Pluto Nash" ... in my opinion, those were the ones in which he did his best acting ... but my favourite was "Beverly Hills Cop" just for the mix of drama, humour, and action.
  • I can't pick just one, but I really liked him in '48 Hours', 'Beverly Hills Cop, 'Trading Places', and maybe a couple of 'odd' choices', 'The Golden Child' an 'Coming to America'. I think all those movies had a balance of pretty good dramatic acting, and a lot of his classic comedy. The newer movies just seems 'sillier' to me, and I'm not into them as much as the older stuff that seemed to have a little more 'meat', if you can actually call it that. He was also good in Harlem Nights, but I just didn't care for that movie all that much.
  • The Nutty Professor- He made a really darling Sherman Klump
  • I agree with Taylor. I love the older ones and the mix of drama and comedy. My faves would have to be Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America.
  • Beverly Hills Cop
  • Jerry Lewis' "The Nutty Professor" is one of those movies I initially thought should not be remade. How could anyone improve upon the original, which I always viewed as one of Jerry's best films. Eddie's remake proved me wrong. His performance was tour-de-force. He wasn't "Eddie Murphy in a fat suit"; he actually disappeared into the character of Sherman Klump. He made me care about the character so much, that when the Buddy Love/Eddie Murphy persona appeared, he was funny AND despicable. I found myself rooting for the comeuppance I knew would occur...and when it DID, Eddie SOLD it for all it was worth. And, I haven't even MENTIONED the OTHER characters he embodies throughout the film! TWO THUMBS UP!
