  • Yes. There was someone in our office passing them around. I told them to stop, it's against company policy. I delete them right away.
  • No different from the news on TV or the newspaper....sometimes they are all way off the mark. Hi BD...how are you tonight?
  • Yes my friend, it's kind of up there with gossip isn't it?
  • Yes, I keep deleting thinking they will stop.
  • I think the newspapers are also full of faulty info.
  • Yes, yes, YES! It is one of my worst pet peeves. I just do not understand how people can so blithely send on emails full of quotes people didn't make, product warnings that are completely false, historical facts that are made up or skewed, missing children that don't exist, and scary warnings about new societal trends that are downright laughable. We have become a society that is devoid of critical thinking and it makes me sad and exasperated. It is SO simple to either go to Snopes.com and type in a few keywords, or just google a few keywords to check the veracity of the latest questionable inbox arrival forwarded by a well-meaning friend. For awhile, I replied to those mails with a link pointing to evidence that the item was false, but many people got offended by that. It seems it's OK for them to send me a bunch of garbage 'just to help me out', but it's not OK for me to politely point out that their daily shampoo is not full of toxic chemicals and it's still OK to flash your lights at cars to signal them that theirs are not on. One good thing that did come out of it is that many of those people have taken me off their 'helpful hint' email list. ;)
