I have taken the last 7 years to do my family tree. So I have quite a handle on most of that.

I believe that after a few generations ancestors become irrelevant, almost strangers; so why bother delving into such trivial affairs?

Gracie, you've just given me a great idea. I'm going to play Alex Haley for awhile. I kind of want to know about my family tree.:-)

Depending of course upon which ancestors, I'm thinking their daily life was much harder than mine. Dreams, laughter, everyday events? I'm of the opinion that people really haven't changed since the first cave paintings. Our understanding and knowledge of the world, yes. But basic emotions, feelings, dreams haven't changed a bit. Save for the technological and language barrier, if you took a common man from Ancient Egypt and deposited him in New York, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Well, maybe you would. New Yorkers are mean.

I do, from time-to-time. My paternal family probably enjoyed warm days on their tropical island and my maternal ancestors probably "enjoyed" bangers and mash or bubbly and squeak and cold, cold weather.
