i do. and the likes of star 98.7 in los angeles doesn't help - they play the same 5 popular songs over and over and over again.

Hell yeah. As a musician I find it offensive that most of the currnt artists even got signed. The music just dosen't have any depth to it anymore. Its like a factory. You don't even have to be able to sing anymore they can just use a computer to do pitch correction and it comes out shiny. like a polished turd.

I agree that most of it just seems to be churned out crap. Especially "teeny-bop" music and rap. well, rap is hardly bland, but it all sounds like the same, obnoxious, foul, no-talent garbage to me. And please, can someone just put Advil Latrine, Jessica/Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears and all of their clones on a rocket into the sun?

They stopped making real music around the 1980's

Why do you hate to say it? It's true.

I agree. That's why I listen mostly to the oldies. I am glad of my collection.

i listen to classic rock, oldies, and blues.the music of "today",seems to all be cookie cutter music(all the same)you can change the artist, change the words, and its still the same....bear in mind also you are talking about music on commercial airwaves..top 40 etc..the epitome of copycats.

I listen to Country Music, many times it turned out to be the Old Rock/folk/Guitar and storytelling music that has been lost in the last 10 years. Country has changed so if you have not checked it out lately you should.

That's why I look elsewhere. A lot of good stuff comes out of Asia. For example, from Japan "Pink Lady". Enjoy. :

I agree. We are in a musical depression. Nothing special is happening so this "noise" is just filling the gap. either that or I am getting too old to appreciate newer music.
