  • It's doubtful but if I were you I would contact an attorney who deals in contracts or real estate. By law you should have received a good faith estimate of what the taxes and other costs relating to the property were going to be. Good faith means just that. The estimate of what the taxes was given in good faith based upon prior years information available. No one can forsee how much things will increase by in the future unfortunately so more than likely the seller didn't violate any laws nor did they mislead you. As I said though your best option would be to consult an attorney and they can tell you for sure if there was any fraud comittied on the part of the seller.
  • If you bought title insurance, maybe your title insurance policy protects you.
  • All of that info should have been on the disclaimer. Have you bought the house? Or are you in the process?
  • When buying a house from an agent or an owner,disclosure must be made of all taxes and issues concerning the house, they are responsable for all unpaid taxes if they misslead you.
