You're reading Back in the day my mom would look at me and it was over. I put the fear of God in mines....How can you be scared of your child? How can you let your child beat on you? Not saying i beat mines but, i can give them a look and you know....

Because he is the only one they should fear!!!!
by Big_Sexy23 on January 9th, 2008
They don't fear him , they fear you for instilling fear in them.
by Gingerminx on January 9th, 2008
No to be technical it say "thou shall fear no man". So when you ask a preacher, you should only fear God. My kids will fear me enough and respect me as well as themselves to never raise a hand to me. So take it how you like but they are raised right. Yes maam, no maam and sir the same.
by Big_Sexy23 on January 9th, 2008
Also we install love in these kids. Do that solve the situation with all of them? NOOOO BUT WE KEEP LOVING AND TRYING!!!!
by Big_Sexy23 on January 9th, 2008
You said it yourself, 'fear you enough' children should never fear their parents, they rely on them for survival.
by Gingerminx on January 9th, 2008
Yeah rely on for survival but if they are beating the parent. How can that be a means to survival? Love can be transformed into fear but in some cases like these what would you do? I get what your saying but you do not get what i am saying...
by Big_Sexy23 on January 9th, 2008
I wouldn't make my child fear me , if they are beating you then they have serious problems and that comes from home, take them to counselors and go with them and deal with it as a family.
by Gingerminx on January 9th, 2008
OOOhh no, my kids do not hit me. I was watching Maury and was just wandering. I would fight for my kids but if they hit me i would fight them the same. Mainly cause they are both bigger and taller than me and believe they can whip me. My son has tried once and never again. Thank GOD never again. I was tired...
by Big_Sexy23 on January 10th, 2008
I think all normal rules go "out the door" once a child starts abusing a parent! I do not care what my kids may do to me in the future, (I hope I raised them well enuff to not ever lift a hand against their parents). BUT, if one EVER raised a hand to their Mother, they would have me to deal with, and it wouldn't be pretty!
by BrokeDog on January 10th, 2008
Thank you !!!! Someone is seeing what i am saying.
by Big_Sexy23 on January 10th, 2008
You raise a child right and it should never wish to raise its hand to you. It should not even be an issue.
by Gingerminx on January 10th, 2008
You can install all the right principles in a child. Does not mean they will follow them. Just like you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Just like we can't make you take head to this subject!!!!!
by Big_Sexy23 on January 11th, 2008
Big_S you are dead on with the horse to water analogy. You can only do the best you can by your children, and I wont get on a sanctified soapbox but..leave the rest to God. And Heaven help either one of my children if they even look like they want to disrespect me!!!
by Flbound on January 11th, 2008
Well that is 3 against 1. I guest we will see Minx on the news talking about how her kid kicked her ---, stole her credit card, and left her for dead. LOL (okay that is not funny) Yeah it is....
by Big_Sexy23 on January 11th, 2008
My son is about to turn 21, he has recently moved into a flat with a friend, he has a steady job and is looking at further education , we see him often and horror of horrors, we respect each other and have really never had a problem with him. wow, blew your theory out of the water didn't it? Now since you insist on using god as a blunt instrument go right ahead , but this conversation is over for me.
by Gingerminx on January 11th, 2008
good cause you are annoying as hell. Kinda judgemental and stuck on yourself or plain stuck up
by Big_Sexy23 on January 11th, 2008
Obviously, Gingermix has no idea what "the fear of God" is. The Biblical term refers to reverence mixed with awe. Sort of like a little kid looks upon his dad. "My daddy can fix anything!" or "My daddy is the strongest daddy in the world!" Now that's just a silly illustration, but putting the fear of God in someone refers to making them feel like they'd be better off not trespassing on Dad's good will. This is a good thing, when you have willful kids who think they have the world on a string, and are out looking for trouble.
by snowberry on September 12th, 2009
I know exactly what the fear of god means snowberry and am glad it is not necessary in my household. Pity it can't be the same for all.
by Gingerminx on September 12th, 2009
You don't sound like it.
