I'm interested about the genealogies given in Genesis 4 and 5, and whether Jared is the father or possibly the ancestor of Enoch. Could Enoch, the son of Cain POSSIBLY be one and the same as the descendant of Seth through Jared, possibly through a daughter given to Cain in marriage.

Beget doesn't necessarily have to do with having kids. For instance, "Graffiti begets more graffiti" or "Vandalism begets vandalism", so if there's some graffiti/vandalism on a building, you're practically inviting more graffiti/vandalism on the building because it's already been tagged as a zone for such "artistry". . http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/beget To cause to exist or occur; produce: Violence begets more violence.
