  • Bring the tile over the lip of the bath. Rather than have the bath against the tile. After tiling and grouting, you could use a sealer over the tiles.
  • Make sure everythings in square. You can buy trims and such but if its a good job the grout should be enough with maybe a bit of sealant
  • Unless you have the tiles over the lip of the tub and that there is waterproofing material like poly or Kerdi, it will not be waterproof. There must be that material back behind the tile. Then you use thinset, NEVER mastic which is that premixed stuff in the big tub, because mastic isn't for use around any wet surface. Then grout the area but don't grout the area between changes of surface or changes of material, like between the tub and tile area. That is where the silicone sealer goes. But don't rely on just that to keep water out. Grout is porous as are the tiles themselves, especially natural material tiles like stone, marble or travertine. And applying a sealer on your tiles will not make them waterproof either. It is a sealer for dirt or soap and grim.
