  • A football
  • Spaghetti. Plenty of carbs.
  • Basketball is a very athletic sport, lots of running and bouncing around and whatnot. The night before a game, you should have a complex carb rich dinner, to stock your muscles, blood and fast release fat cells with energy for the game the next day. Remeber it takes *hours* to digest food, "Carbs turn up the next day". Directly before the game, something light (like fruit) with plenty of water. You dont want to be wasting blood on digestion while you are playing: thats what gives you cramps. At the same time though, you dont want to run out of sugars too quick, so best to supplement your carbo load fromt he night before with something small thats really quick to digest. This included Fruit, or proper energy/sports drinks like Powerade or Gatorade. Energy drinks like Red Bull, V, etc are filled with caffeiene and chemicals that actually inhibit the absorbtion of nutrients in the body, so they may or may not be a good idea. The lift they give might be worth it though, I'm not sure.
