  • I don't think "saved", but most certainly a few that have had their execution drawn out. I seem to recall reading about a prisoner that they had this issue with. Apparently it took a lot of jabs and even one botched attempt (they thought they had it, but missed a vein) and the guy just nodded off briefly. The fella actually asked to go to the bathroom in the mean time. They finally got it right...2 hours after starting. I believe this case and one other, are the basis of a few prisoners on death row, launching a case against lethal injection as cruel and unusual in the USA.
  • There is always a vein that can be located to accept the injection. the neck vein is always accessible. Will this save a person from execution? No.
