Yes, that time is now, and for the last 20 years or so. It just doesn't get distributed properly.

There will be when we get over the fear of GM crops - it is the only sure way to feed massive amounts of people continually. God knows when it will be - so far the only food we've got is seedless grapes and I feel sure that this is down to nobody noticing because they've been about for years.

Technically speaking, there is enough now. Distribution and accessibility is another issue altogether. However, if global population growth isn't severely checked, climate change projections become reality, and sustainable agricultural practices don't become the rule rather than the exception, we will reach a point where global famine becomes a stark fact of life.

yes, when the "meek" inherit the earth. when God makes a new heaven and a new earth: Isaiah and Revelations.. God says there will be a TIME when not even the Rich will be able to BUY food , so I wonder what the poor will do?
-
According to the bible this will be accomplished by God's kingdom. Hunger is one of the signs of the end times spoken of by Jesus at Matt 24: 7. We are told to pray for that "kingdom to come" at Matt. 6: 9,10.

There is always enough food to go around. It's the uneven distribution that is the problem.

Will there ever be a time when everyone will learn to love everyone else as God loves us?

Yes, in the new world under the rule of God’s Kingdom, the entire earth will be transformed into a paradise of plenty, without any trace of poverty. Note some Bible prophecies regarding the conditions that will exist at that time: “Jehovah of armies will certainly make for all the peoples . . . a banquet of wine kept on the dregs, of well-oiled dishes filled with marrow.” (Isaiah 25:6) “There will come to be plenty of grain on the earth; on the top of the mountains there will be an overflow.” (Psalm 72:16) “Pouring rains of blessing there will prove to be. And the tree of the field must give its fruitage, and the land itself will give its yield, and they will actually prove to be on their soil in security.” (Ezekiel 34:26, 27) “The earth itself will certainly give its produce; God, our God, will bless us.” (Psalm 67:6) “The wilderness and the waterless region will exult, and the desert plain will be joyful and blossom as the saffron.” Isaiah 35:1.

As other have pointed out, we are already producing more than enough food to feed everyone. It is not a problem of supply. It is a problem of distribution. This is a political problem. Unfortunately, the places where there is mass starvation, it is usually the political climate that causes the starvation. In both Ethiopia (1980's) and Somalia (1990's) aid was sent in to feed the hungry, but the powers that be in those countries would not allow it to get into the areas where it was most needed because they were controlled by their political enemies. In other places where mass starvation occurs, you will find the same basic thing happening. The famine is the result of government policies that prevent the production and/or distribution of sufficient food.

we throw away enough food to feed the world. It's political, and certain religions that block proper distribution
