  • I would prefer to work for a large firm (and I do). There is a much better chance for job mobility, benefits, and transfers to other locations within the company. I worked for another large firm in the 1990s, and was able to transfer between Boston and San Francisco offices quite easily. Try that with a smaller firm. :o) Oh, and try tens of thousands of employees, and you'll be closer to the firms I have worked for.
  • I prefer to work for larger companies msotly for the fact that there are usually alot more benefits to working for larger companies along with usually alot less accountability. For example I worked for a small Hospitality Management Company and worked my butt off to keep the company running smoothly, now I am working for a national company and have learned that in larger companies 10 people do the job I once had to share the work load and make things run smoothly instead of trying to do it all myslef. I took my first vacation this year which I was never able to do before and I actually have time for an outside work life... It's great!
  • small.. there is more opportunity for advancement as the company grows.
  • I like small. It is friendlier...
  • A large corp, in sm business everybody knows everyones personal life.
  • I would prefer to work for a large company, but in a small satellite office for them. Working in a small office you get the sense of family and make close friendships while having the benefits that only a large company can provide. Great insurance, good pay, room for growth and stability At a small company the benefits are not there as much. There might not be any heath benefits, lower pay and the company itself might just fold to a larger competitor.
  • There are advantages to both. It's easier to get your hard recognized at a smaller company, but it's harder to get properly compensated for all of the work that you do. Most employees of smaller compaies wear too many hats and perform a lot of work that they aren't compensated for. Smaller companies are not able to offer benefits on the same scale as larger companies due to their deminished buying power. I think larger companies are always the smarter career choice, if it's a career that you're looking for. If, however, you're only going to be in the job market for a few years, the atmosphere of a lot of small companies can be very appealing.
  • Small companies are great (under 50 employees) but are unstable. That said, I've worked for all sorts and sized companies and hands down the best was American Express; a Fortune 50 company with thousands upon thousands of employees.
  • Small. I joined my previous company when it was at about 40 employees and was with them as they grew to 300. My current company is also 300. I just don't want to work for a company so large that I'm just a number.
  • i work for a very large company and i love it
  • It depends on the income if I could make a lot of money working for a small company I would, but usually larger companies can afford higher salaries for their employees.
