  • Did this start before or after you had him neutered? He may be p-o'ed at you. Your best bet is to get yourself a squirt bottle, fill it with water, and spray it in his face every time he starts his attack. When he finds out there are cosequences for scratching and biting, he'll stop.
  • i know actually what you mean..my male cat does the same thing to me..the attacks are vicious and he doesnt give up.i have talked to a vet and she has never really heard of anything like this before..she figures he might be going back to fereall..has he ever tried to stalk you..mine has many of times..but that part i can control..i can see it when he gets into the stalking mood as he tilts his head and starts to stalk..its the one where out of the blue when you least expect it.the attack is on..he will lash out at you with the howl..the growl..the eyes turn wild and dilated..the fangs show..and it comes on fast..you dont even know what hit you..except for the blood pouring from your legs and hands to protect yourself..his eyes dont even reconize you..finally your able to grab something to try to protect you body from the cougar attacks..and get him into a bedroom to cool off for the next 5 hours...during that time he will body ram the door and howl and scream and growl ..he has been like this since he was 4 years old..but not that often as it is now..it has gotten worse..after i figure he is ok i will let him out and he is just like a perfect angel..he is now 13 years old and today i was attacked again for the 3rd time this month..i came home from work and he rubbed up against me and was loveable..but i could see in his eyes that they are wild..he didnt have the dreamy love eyes anymore tonite..and i dont think he ever will again...sorry i couldnt really answer your question...but now i know im not the only one..if i find out anything..i will most certainly let you know..
  • He thinks he is the boss of you and needs discipline. First get his energy out with play (and you are not the toy), then feed him, after this anytime he attacks you take him and hold him against the floor until he realises you are the boss, or hiss at him like his mother would, do not back down! You don't need to use undue force or hurt him, he just needs to be re-taught, this is why noone should let their cat bite them or play with them as a kitten good luck!
  • I have to say that these thoughts are appreciated but it is a completely different story living with it. My cat is an amazing cat 99% of the time. He is now 5 years old and has attacked me 3 times and sent me to the hospital due to the infection from the bacteria. My cat for some strange reason attacks not only me buy othe people who have a loud Music ringtone. And this isn't the I'm annoyed attack where he nips you, but full out attack to kill. He has also done this once to me with no cell phone, but a reaction to me turning over in bed. I have permanent scars from his "random" attacks, changed my cell phone ring and warned guests to do the same But I don't know what else to do. I can also no longer let my cat sleep with me simply due to his once a year random attack of me in my bed that gives me cellulitis and sends me to the hospital. Please someone help because I want my cat to be able o go to my room knowing it's his safe haven since living with roommates it's his only place away from everything. He is an amazing cat And I have no clue how to fix this.
