I would have to go with the Fletcher class of Destroyers. They were built in large numbers during WWII to replace the older types left over from WWI and those produced between the 2 wars. FYI: The USS Cassin Young is a Fletcher class destroyer and is on display at the Boston Ship Yard, next to Old Ironsides near the Bunkerhill Monument in north Boston. Also, my father-in-law served on the USS O'Bannon, another Fletcher class destroyer that survived the war. Ralphi
