i think the color of pantyhose should always be "nude" and never naked for all other situations, i believe either word is acceptable.

In more "elevated" or sexual contexts. Naked seems to be a non-sexual, casual word.

Nude can be a color, or a description of a color, plus unclothed. Naked can only be unclothed.

when you are trying to be all artsy-fartsy. Nude is naked and naked is nude and both mean bare-assed, so really, the rest is just semantics.

It's so hard to do this without circular definitions... one way I've seen is to use "nude" to describe "not wearing clothes, and not desiring to wear them", and "naked" to describe "not wearing clothes, and very much wanting to wear them", i.e. locked out of your house.
