  • Certainly. As long as the cost wasn't too much higher, if it was, I would try to buy a different kind of product that would satisfy what I needed to have.
  • Of course! We have to focus more on this today than ever.
  • Depends on how expensive, I try to buy only made in america products, so I already spend much more than I normally would.
  • Yep. I already try to avoid the made in China stuff due to there horrid human rights policies, slave labor, unfair trade practices and poor quality.
  • I believe I could use that extra quater for something else, actually.
  • "if you knew they were made fairly (treated workers lawfully)" odd definition of fairly. In many countries it is perfectly legal to run a sweat shop for pennies a day in wages to the slaves/workers. By your definition that would be "fair". I don't believe I'd go out of my way to pay extra for that. The term "organic" is silly as well, at least as it pertains to say veggies. I've never seen synthetic or inorganic veggies as an option at my local grocers. In the spirit of your question, though, I would say no. Nobody is forcing people to not better themselves and get better jobs. I'll pay what gives me the most value for my dollar, be it price per ounce, availability, convenience, flavor quality, packaging, etc. In certain circumstances I have and will buy "organic" products....but not because it gives me a holier-than-thou warm fuzzy feeling that I just saved the whole planet or other such ridiuclum.
  • No. I buy my clothes as cheap as possible. If I hear that a specific retailer/designer ect is using slave labour then I might avoid buying from them, but I would not go out of my way just because some guy says they dont use it.
  • Yes, I would and do. I'm sick and tired of companies that unfairly exploit their workers, fill my food full of crap, and then expect me to pay them for the privilege of abusing myself and others. I'm not rich, but my health and conscience mean more to me than saving a few jinglies.
  • Seems like if they were made naturally, they should be cheaper.
  • i dont go out of my way to buy these products. I buy what i see at the store, i buy clothes at Nordstrom's so if these products aren't proper then no. But if i see something that looks good at reads "Organic" i do feel better about buying it but that's just more of a marketing tactic
  • to some extent yes, but i have very little knowledge of where many products are made and how. for ex jus because it says made in usa doesn't mean made here, it might mean made on US territory in some other country, in which case they may or may not follow the US labor laws. if i hear about child labor and it's abusive and stuff i won't buy the product anymore i guess if i had more knowledge on the situation i would make some effort
  • Only if I liked it. What's the point in going broke just because something is more expensive (especially if you might not even use it)? That might sound rather harsh, but it's not really. I rarely buy anything and I tend to stay away from things that have a bad history about them. I'd rather donate to a cause than buy something I do not want.
  • this is a trick question. it is ones' duty to treat workers fairly. organic food can only be grown in small quantities.most of what is sold as organic food is grown in commercial quantities.hence the pesticide, fertilizer, human faeces, cheap labor/illegals on farm and harvested before time.
  • absolutly! I only buy organic fairtrade certified products
