Well, some words have changed a good bit in meaning over the years. Not all of these examples are risque, sexual or vulgar but just interesting to see how the language evolves: We used to use the term gay as happy. Snatch only meant to mean grab. Beaver was only an animal Peter was only a mans name and so was Dick and Willy. Coke was only a soft drink. Mary Jane was only a girls name. Grass was only in your yard. Crack was something in a wall. Snow fell on the ground rather than went up peoples noses. Smack meant to slap something. Dump was what you did with trash. Cool was a temperature and so was hot. Jam was something you put on toast. Buzz was what bees did or a haircut. Bad was bad rather than good. I could go on but I shouldn't write a book on AB; words are fascinating to me but I majored in English and became a librarian so that's why I have such an interest in them.
