I suppose a lot of it has to do with the job I did. I was surrounded all day by thousands of people at an airport..and everyone wanted something from me. I really enjoyed the job but after 31 years it is nice to just have quiet down times...when I can just get to know myself better:)

More time to think...
-
To do stuff on my own time not someone elses.

The usual "me time" stuff. Solitude is a friend of mine, I know him quite well. Ah, "Hell is People" - Paul Sautre. No drama, no emotional fussing, no answering to any expecations or beck and call of another. Just me, myself and I.
-
I can hear myself think. I like my thoughts and ideas and like to hear them often. I can also do things I know need to be done in my space without interference or unwanted suggestions....(smile)

#1. I can watch what I want to watch on tv. #2. Peace and quiet (except for the occasional bark from the dogs) #3. No homework #4. I can have a beer or glass of wine without getting a lecture from my 7 year old on the dangers of alcohol. #5. I can stay in the bathtub as long as I want. #6. I don't have to fix a meal and clean it up afterwards. But then I really start missing the little heathens! Go figure, lol!

The solitude. I think it is important to spend some time each day in reflection or meditation.
