Just curious, Are their any EV1's (electric vechile's) still out there?

I understand that they were all recalled (they were all leased) and destroyed.

To the best of my knowledge, they were all destroyed. GM's kicking themselves right about now, I'm sure.

- First part yes, second part no. EVs require extremely little maintenance. This means dealerships can't sell maintenance packages, GM can't sell many parts, new engines, etc. They recalled and destroyed them to save their business model.

Yes there are working but not original EV 1's. These Ev 1s were given to universities and museums but they were "deactivated". Some of these ev 1s have been reactivated. This actually violates the terms of use contracts with GM. I know from personal experience that at least one still exists and I have heard rumors of others. The one I have seen in person is located around Rochester New York.

They were recalled, but I don't think all were returned. I am guessing there are a few still tucked away somewhere.

- GM accounted for each and every EV1 that was ever built. A few were given to museums and such but they were disabled. The rest were destroyed.

- I was reading an article recently about them, and it said that there were about a dozen not destroyed. They must have been referring to the ones that went to museums.

- Yes, I had the chance to drive one. They cost way more to make than they were leased for, that's why they knew where they all were. Currently GM is doing something similar with 100 fuel cell Equinox SUVs. They cost about $2,000,000 each to make. (yes million)
