Command and Conquer is sweet. The Sims is fun.

If you like RPGs, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is good for sinking lots of hours into. It's still not as good as Daggerall was, though. If you want to go a little bit retro, you could try out Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos. It's a space combat sim that uses Newtonian physics. I've spent more time in that game than any game I've ever played, I think. Not sure where you'd find a copy at this point, but if you can it's well worth it, in my opinion. Of course, there's Civilization--I once heard it described as "crank for computer nerds with a Napoleonic complex." Wheel of Time is an older FPS based on Robert Jordan's novels of the same name. It's by far the most complex FPS I've ever seen, with over 40 "weapons" that do everything from simply shooting fireballs to swapping your location with an enemy's. It came out around the same time as Unreal Tournament and was never terribly popular.

I am totally addicted to NeverWinter Nights. (must be Diamond Edition) Hours and Hours and Hours of online fun.
