  • If that were to ever happen then I imagine we would simple devolve the UK and become its independent countries... England Scotland Whales Northern Ireland
  • I thought United Republic; but since Scotland has been after devolution for many years, as has Cornwall, and Wales & N. Ireland already have their own Govts, as has the Isle of Man, and the Commonwealth is only covered under British for legal purposes, then it isn't just the "UK" that will be effected! The knock-on effect will be enormous; not everyone will want to abolish the monachy, and to hold a referendum will mean a world-wide poll! Glad I won't have to arrange that one - I have enough troube with local government elections! What a great question! ++
  • My answer would prpbably be "Great Britain" as the full name of our nation is "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland". The constitutional problems would be incredible though... and Northern Ireland would probably wonder what happened to their bit of the name!
