Keep a thermometer in your fridge. It should be kept at 36-40 degreesF. If it goes higher, I would toss your perishables. If this already happened... I would throw away my perishables. There's no sense risking food poisoning, even if you would probably still be safe. PS-There's no set time... It depends on your fridge temp, the temp of the air around it, the time without electricity, and if your individual fridge has any air leaks, however slight.

It depends on the type of food and whether or not it has been opened. It also depends on what you do with it and what your standards are. When they have molds or smell bad, throw them out.

We just had our power restored a few minutes ago. If you keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed, it should hold the cold in for several hours at least.

Along with keeping fridge door closed, it depends what the items are and how they are stored. For instance, anything vacuum sealed , like deli meats, can last a long time. It also depends on if it's 40 degrees outside or 80. I trust my no se and eyes.
