Probably you have installed some add-in or toolbar which has a bug. When you close a window, the bug fires off and cause the browser program to crash and close all windows. Without knowing all the details of what you have installed, nobody can really solve this for you. In general, you should decline to install toolbars and add-ons to your browser unless you know exactly what they are. Some malicious web sites even trick people into installing "drive by downloads" -- browser add-ons which can do very nasty things without your permission. Suggest you take the computer to a shop and have them clean it up.

You could try performing a system restore to a point where Explorer worked? Or you could install this version of Firefox http://www.sleekbytes.com/picasa-google.htm and stop using Explorer.

Use another browser! I prefer the new Firefox which can be customized to your version of perfection. The Bottom Line: IE7 is only available for Windows Vista or XP SP2 (unless you run a parallel desktop, or Boot Camp on a Mac), so it's not even an option if you're not a Windows user. Also, IE7 still isn't compliant with web standards. The RSS support is very good, and the Quick Tabs feature certainly comes in handy, but unless you're a huge fan of Windows Live Services, the security holes and lack of customisable features mean that IE7 is still trailing behind the others in many areas. Opera is a cutting-edge browser with some fabulous high-end features, however, for the time being it will lag behind Firefox in terms of add-ons. Even though dozens of brilliant features are built into Opera 9, when there's something you want that isn't there, you'll be hard-pressed to find a compatible plug-in. Firefox continues to gain popularity, and there is a good reason for that: it's a brilliant browser. It introduced tabbed browsing and improved security. There are huge possibilities for customizing Firefox, from dozens of tool bars, buttons and neat little features available for download, and most things can be turned off if you don't need them. It offers inline spell checking, an excellent pop-up blocker and brilliant spyware protection. But the number of add-ons available is the browser's unique strength. New plug-ins are being added to the list every day.

For one or another reason, IE has gone all buggy on you. Your options are to either: â–º Reinstall IE, or â–º Use another browser e.g. Firefox Personally, I recommend using Firefox. I find it a lot quicker and more stable, and it also has many more cool customisable features.
