No. But let me tell you a secret. I have already lived my life to the fullest. I have been around the globe, I have met millions of people face to face (perhaps a million more on line). I did things - I tried things, I lived my life. I lived on the streets for a while, I lived nearly like a king for a while. I lived my life... many people just exist, for them the end of the world is a sad thing. For me its just a thing, a natural conclusion that will come be it in 2012 or 2 billion and 12. If I walked across the street tomorrow morning and get that run down feeling by a passing big rig and die, I would not feel bad about it. Yeah sure I would be surprised and sort of dismayed, but I would not feel like I have missed anything, or wish that I had more time to do things, because I have already done far much more than most people do. I lived this far leaving nearly no regrets... Come 2012 if I continue living as I have I will have few regrets and I honestly can say I am satisfied with how I lived my life.

I've lost track of how many ends-of-the-world I've survived so far. It comes every few years... some group claiming a prophecy that's as solid as a rock -- we're all going to die on Sept. 19th, 1989, or January 1, 2000, or ... pick your date. There will always be end-of-the-world predictions that come and go, I think. Groups who need to feel that they're special and gifted with deep knowledge are particularly prone to latch on to these kinds of predictions, on the flimsiest evidence. Perhaps the world will end next Tuesday, or in 2012, or some other near date. But I think the more important question is "what if it DOESN'T end? What then?" Are we going to continue on in this same petty pace, fighting and hiding our head in the sand, avoiding coming to grips with the awesome responsibility of having a whole planet to ourselves which requires our best care and attention, or ignoring the fact that we're all woven together into a tapestry called "humanity", many of whom are suffering terribly? What we need to do is wake up, regardless of whether or not the end is near. If we do that, any day can be the end and it won't be a problem.

No. What's the point? Keep on living as if the world has no end, yet knowing that the end is very possible. :)

no i haven't, but i fully believe that this is possible. i wonder about it all the time because this will be the year i finally graduate from college. it's going to suck a lot if i graduate and then the world ends and i never really got to get out into the real world. but i'm not sure what to do about that... just live it up in college i guess.
