  • "all women are prostitutes" (from my father)
  • Do you mean apart from Santa Clause and the Tooth Faeries? "Be nice to the other children and they will be nice to you"....Sorry, Mum, but I learned that if you are too nice, you get ripped off a lot. You also get taken for a softy and have to fight a lot. After you have fought a lot, you get left alone more.
  • Santa is fake
  • My dad took me out in the woods one night to go snipe hunting. He gave me a big burlap sack to hold open, and a big stick to whack the ground with. That was supposed to make a snipe come running through the woods and directly into my bag....I fell for it..My brother later told me that there was no such thing as a snipe in the part of the world we were in...LOL
  • Actually, my parents did a pretty good job of telling the truth like it is. They never tried to sugar-coat the world for a child's eyes. They tried to teach me how to deal with the world like it really is. I think the biggest loads they ever fed me were things they still believe... only now I see the other side that they still can't see.
  • My older sister (10 years older than me) was a total mess. She got involved in drugs, alcohol and got pregnant and ran away at 17. Whenever I wanted to do something (gymnastics lessons, flute lessons, cheerleading, field hockey, etc) my mom would say no because my sister had tried those things and look how she ended up. We were like night and day though. She hated school and got D's, I was straight A's, she liked heavy metal and I liked top 40, etc. It was very unfair and I missed out on alot of fun. I wasn't even allowed to have very many friends because my mom didn't trust anyone.
  • My parents try to tell us the truth, although sometimes I don't believe their beliefs are true..... They truly believe it, though. I guess one thing I just don't agree with is that they say that real love cannot exist before marriage.
