Here are the pics. IMO the costumes of Padme Amidala in Star WArs were the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Just off the top of my head, I'd like to nominate the costume worn by Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands. Not only was it remarkable achievement in terms of sheer craftsmanship, but it did so much to help fully realize and express the personality of the character and the film that simply could not have been done with any other type of costume.
