  • Yes, just stay out of Quebec XD
  • UNless you travel through Quebec, everything in Canada has both languages on it and you don't need to know French. But it is fun to know it and eavesdrop on people in touristy places LOL!!!
  • well I have for 59 years....I can read the cereal boxes--that's about it.. west of Ontario there aren't alot of French speakers...you might have trouble in parts of Quebec..that's about it.
  • I think so. Canada may be a bilingual society, but it's only in Quebec where it's spoken by the majority of the residents.
  • Mais, oui!
  • sure can they speak english there too
  • It kinda depends....can you currently function in the US without any French? Quebec is the only place you need French in Canada.....unless you think metric is French. To quickly convert metric to US measurements, multiply by 9/5 and add 32. Therefore 12 beers in Canada = 43.6 US beers
  • It depends on what part of Canada you go to; the whole country doesn't speak French :)
  • Of course!
  • Yes. Even in most of Quebec you should be able to function in English, though finding and keeping work in Quebec without knowing any French may prove to to be difficult. Only Quebec is officially French speaking. New Brunswick in bilingual. Ontario and Manitoba have large Francophone communities. In Quebec, you will find getting service in rural areas in English more difficult. It should not be a difficulty in Montreal. a large majority of the population in bilingual, as long as you are courteous enough to ask if they speak English and don't assume that they will.
  • Yes. Just get a job that doesn't require you to know French and live in an Anglophone area. : )
