same thing here i think it might be because the hand on the mouse is farther away from the rest of your body while the other one could be in your lap or wherever

My mouse hand doesn't seem to get cold anymore. I don't know if it's because of the mat that I use (it's got one of those jelly cushions) or because I'm just used to spending hours on the computer and don't notice it.

I would guess that it's because your entire hand surface (palm) is in constant thermal contact with the mouse surface, whereas with ambient air its not in constant direct contact (eg air is very low density, so particles are bouncing off you all the time). The two have equal temperatures (if the mouse has been in the room for long enough), so you'll get more heat transfer from your hand to the mouse than your other hand to the room :)

Cause generally it's slightly more elevated and away from the body and often just resting there, not moving very much.
