Probably to waste other people's time and earn points.

It's a great mystery to me. I'll never understand it except for the mathematical homework questions that someone will answer with the formula written out.

They do it because this AB....ask question...get answer :)

I notice that too. But I think it's all about getting more responses and opinions, so that they can form a better judgment. Besides, nothing can beat the personal touch in the answers given by users of Q&A websites like Answerbag.

I think a lot of people judge people like this far too much. You don't know if they go check a search engine as well. Maybe they do. I used to post questions on here and leave. I posted questions here because it's ANSWERBAG. You ask a question. You get answers. Sounds simple enough to me. I used to never come on here except to see my question when it's answered. I did check a search engine after. I didn't necessarily have a lot of time, and I thought it would be easier if I got an answer right away that could help me with my homework. It didn't mean I was going to use it other than as a guideline. Eventually, I got more e-mails from AB and discovered how awesome of a web site it actually is and now I contribute. I actually didn't even really know about points at first, to be honest..... I was more concerned with the answers I'd be getting than points. ^_^ I hope this answer helps. Thanks for the question. ^_^

I think some people don't know how to use a search engine to find the kind of answer they are looking for, especially those automotive problem ones. Or they are too lazy to do it and it's easier to come here. But then again, like me, they may be looking for an answer that is more than what wiki can tell you. They are looking for more personal information, like what real people think or like or what their experience is. There is no encyclopedia type sited that can do that for you.

I found AB while using a search engine. It took me a while to figure out what AB was about. I'm a Chatty Cathy kind of person, so this is a fun use of my time. Other people don't value this interesting form of interaction. They feel they are to busy to or to important to sit and have fun chatting.

they are just being lazy and hoping someone will find the answer for them.

I used to be afraid of the internet, with it 179,362 listings. How could I be sure I didn't miss the 148,358 answer which was really the one I wanted? I thought asking people who gave one answer, and only one would be a quicker way to find out.
