  • I went and looked and I have an idea what happened. There are alot of people out there who feel very strongly about their right to bear arms. They may have thought that you were taking a stand against that. Also, your question was not posted in new years resolutions or anything like that. It was posted in the answerbag users category. Since nowhere in your question did you mention that this was a resolution for 2008, people could have thought you were being sarcastic about 2007 as it comes to a close. This misinterpretation could have gotten the wrong reaction to those who feel strongly one way or another about the current war on terror. In your comment to the last answer, you asked " do you want people to die?" because someone disagreed with you. That also can bring unwanted DRs from people who happen to be reading through that question's answers. You will not always get an answer that is from the same viewpoint, and most times it is best to just say thanks for the answer and move on. I can't say for certain why you got DRd like that, but I would be careful about categories you place questions in, as well as making your questions clear to avoid people reading them and thinking the wrong thing. On the net, alot of people can be quick to make judgments like that, even if they make the wrong one.
  • Yeah, there are many people here who will downrate not because the arguments of others are not well-put, but only because they don't agree with that stand. As to the F word, that's one reason why I have switched off my comments alert button and stopped commenting. One or two instances of receiving F would be fine, but not all the time. I would have complained, why not, but the staff would not do anything about it anyways so why bother.
