  • I don't know, I hate that. I think the inproper use of the English language is the worst thing, I hate it when people do that.
  • lol @ "grammer" ;)
  • people critisize for a lot of reasons, and a lot of the people that I've met who critisize others about something are complete hypocrites, especially when it comes to clothing. Just don't take them too seriously, they do it to everyone just for the sake of doing it.
  • Whoa now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black. There are lots of people who think they are the grammer police here on ab and make fun of those who don't use proper english and proper grammer. I'm not saying that either is right but don't go crying about people making fun of you for using proper english then at the same time you're downrating and making fun of those who don't use punctuation or proper grammer.
  • ok so i know this isn't answering ur question but did you know that the word aint really is in the dictionary but everyone i know uses the word HECK and thats not in the dictionary
  • I wouldn't have a clue why anyone would criticize grammatical composition when done properly. However, I can certainly understand if they wanted to be sarcastic about it when it's not used properly.
  • some people make too big a deal about grammar just to make other people feel stupid or bad about themselves. thats not cool. but other people might correct mistakes because they honestly want you to know, or were confused by your mistake and are concerned, for you, and your reader's sake, that it not happen again. grammar is important for having people understand what you're trying to get accross. (puncuation is more important, in my opinion.) two other things maybe of interest: 1. this is my favorite apostrope-memory tool; http://www.angryflower.com/aposter.html 2. i heard this quote one time which i think is apt, and i wish i would remind myself of it but we are never all that we want to be... anyway here's the quote, known as Hanlon's Razor; “ Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. ” “ Never assume malice when stupidity will suffice. ” so when people correct you and you think theyrebeing jerks, maybe they just dont realize they're being jerks... so they're stupid jerks, but forgiveable, (even if they do realize what they're doing they're still stupid jerks.) that having been said, i like single quotes for scare quotes (although i was once witness to a lenghty writing partnership breaking up over a double/single scare quotes conflict. so it is a 'hot' topic.) aand, the quotes you use here indicate you mean "so-called 'proper' grammar." either its proper grammar or its not. consider me a forgiveable stupid jerk
  • I think some is actually an understatement. Why do people do it? Well, they probably do it because they think everyone has to be like them and spell like them. I could be wrong, though.
