well i dont know if its the same as XP but if it is when you enter hidden files in System32 it will ask you if you want to unhide them. I think you can also unhide them in regedit

Open a folder.. In the menus got to - TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS then click the VIEW tab now about 9 lines down put a tick in the SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS option. Then click APPLY, then OK Voila! Hidden files n folders revealed!

Let me be more specific for you since noone has given a direct answer for this. Go to Control Panel, then On the tool bar select TOOLS and the select Folder Options. On the FOlder option s window select VIEW. Look for the Hidden FIles and Folders section and select SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS. We are not done yet.... Look for the file you're missing on your C drive. then Right click the file and select properties. Uncheck the HIDE option, click apply and then OK. Your files will be available for view Thanks...

I would like to add that if you have Vista, the Menu Bar may not be there. You have to push the "Alt" key and it will show up. Then go to "tools" then click the "Folder Options" then the "view" tab, Then "Show hidden files and folders".
