1997 Blazer struggles to start, I put key in listen for fuel pump, I only hear the sound of a car stuggling to start. After I stop trying to start it the fuel pump kicks in, I have to turn key halfway, wait for gauges to light up and then it starts. Help.

Once you get it started, does it run ok? Does it ever feel sucked out or starved for fuel? Your fuel pump is supposed to engage when you turn the key to the ON position, which is where your gauges light up. On a cold start, turn the key to the ON position and listen for the pump. If you hear it engage, turn the key and it should start normally. If not, then you may have a dieing pump.
