There is a very, very old tree down the road from me..it's said to have been brought over on the Mayflower. (It DOES look it!)

Around the block, there's a maple tree, that never loses its leaves. During winter and summer, it's always green and bright, shaped as an ice cream. At winter while the other trees are naked, it seems to be shy and keeps its leaves. The thing is that its a regular male tree.

There is a huge sycamore tree near a pond in The Meadows condos in Lafayette, Louisiana that I love. The tree sits out in a field all alone and is a tiny ecosystem for the wild life in that section of the condo grounds.
