Go and buy yourself a pair of household rubber gloves (store brand, not expensive ones) - put them on and then rub your hands over the pet hair and hey presto, it all comes of instantly (I have yet to test this out on a live pet but I shudder to think what could happen).

I like to use the old and trusted sticky-tape roller =)

An old pair of pantyhose rubbed over most fabrics will take it off. Still a bit of a pain though.

A damp cloth works.
