Buying cigars online does not have anything to do with legal issues. My boyfriend is from Canada, Alberta to be more precise and he buys his cigars from http://cuban-cigar.com There is no legal issues and so far he never had any problem buying them. Before answering this I talked to him and he told me to tell you that there are a lot of sites out there selling to Canada and for that matter to anywhere in the world. The ship through FedEx or smth and they have somekind of conventuion with customs. I hope I got it right. I am not a smoker, but I love my man.

A couple of things to point out;
95 percent of Cigars sold in Cuba are fake. The pictures of the cigars posted here are fake. Probably purchased at a resort for 35 to 75 tourist pesos. Quite possibly rolled with banana leaves. The only cigars that you can be sure are real are purchased in a Government shop, complete with the holographic seal, and still in a sealed box.
For example, I have a box of 25 Montecristo Petit Tubos, still sealed in the box as well as individually sealed in aluminum tubes. I paid significantly more for them in a Government store on March 25 2011, and they are real. Do your research, and if anybody is interested in a box of the real things, email me at n.aa@live.ca

I wouldn't think it's illegal since you can walk right into a convenience store and say you want one. And if it is sold to an underage smoker then still, the sellers can't tell whether it is a legally aged buyer, and I'd doubt it would happen since you can't pay online with cash.
So I'm more on the it's not illegal side

I am also trying to find out if it is legal to sell Cuban cigars in Canada. Just call it a crazy moment. I was in the Varadero airport yesterday (February 10/11) and I had extra pesos. I bought one Cohiba Siglo III in the tube and a pack of 20 Mini Cohibas.
