That depends upon what you mean by "soft on terrorism". Some ways of being "hard on terrorism" create two new terrorists for each one they kill. " think you need a President who is "canny on terrorism". Of course, that means stopping actual proven terrorists by all means available. But it may mean being "soft" on the people who are not terrorists yet but might become so if pushed too far. The problem with the assassination of Ms Bhutto is that it will be harder for any government of Pakistan to be seen as legitimate. Which means that democratic governments will be week, and undemocratic ones dictatorial.

The US needs an intelligent president. I dont mean someone with a Yale or Harvard education (such as GWB), I mean someone who will know when to strike and when not to strike. Someone who will have the balls to stand up to Saudi Arabia and leave innocent countries like Iran alone. GWB is not gutless, but he is stupid. Just look at his "war on terror". Yes Afghanistan needed to be done, but Iraq? Hmmmmm.

Hell no. Pakistan is a very scary situation. There are a lot of Pro-Taliban sympathizers in the North who think OBL is a hero. Can we all agree that AQ having a nuclear device is a bad thing?

There are no liberals who believe that more nuclear weapons can be tolerated in the middle east. Every candidate will be hard on terrorism, however the smart ones will help change world opinion to work together against terrorism rather than separate and isolate ourselves. The present approach was poorly thought out and will bankrupt our country. Furthermore, it has destroyed the respect that we once had around the world.

slothmister, An A-4 is jet, not a ship, primarily used for air-to-ground ops. (and a piece of shit also. Subsonic. No afterburner. Really pretty much useless except for doing airshows.) Get with the program. How do you suppose the Brit Harriers shot the A-4s down? The US had just sold you leading edge AIM-9L Sidewinders. I've talked, drank, and sang fighter pilot songs with several guys that flew down there. I just might have a few more clues about what went on than you do. One last thing, after bringing up your little colonial excursion off the coast of Argentina, please have the common sense to never accuse the US of being an imperialist country. I guess if you want to call that a "war," I can say the US won the "war" in Grenada! LMAO!
