Alot of people have had this problem. You need to hook it up to your computer and have the latest version of iTunes and windows service pack 2 installed. Should work after that.

It will come on by itself after a few minutes. plug the usb cable into the computer and let it do it's thing. It will turn on a couple a minutes after it's connected. Be sure to press the button on the very top of the ipod.

Buy it some flowers and take it out to dinner.
