  • To someone, if only yourself. Actually, does simply writing poetry make you a poet? If so then a complete "no" to your question then. Otherwise... maybe.

  • No, but it means you have a way with words however. I would be comfortable saying though that decent poets tend to be more interesting people than people with different hobbies/professions
  • Often precisely the opposite in fact. (Present company excepted of course!) Having hung out with rather more poets than is probably healthy I've found they often have a lot in common with "travellers" - they think it makes them more interesting, when really it just gives them more material to bore people with. Not that there aren't interesting poets and travellers of course. But for the most part theyw ere interesting to start with. It isn't the poetry that makes them that way.
