I think there is a theory on this type of thing. It goes something like this as closely as I can remember: Humans have a nurturing instinct that is triggered by the characteristics of a baby (large eyes in proportion to the face and a large head in proportion the body.) I would say that's part of it. Also, sometimes they are just plain lovable! :0)

That is how humans bred them to look.

something about those big eyes and they are so soft and cuddly (well, most of them are, anyway!). we have 5 cats and we adore them all!
-
Because most are cute - maybe not vicious ones - and dogs use their cuteness as a begging tool for treats, lol...
-
So no matter how naughty they are we still adore them!!!!
-
To make you feel good after a lousy day. I love my cat and she is sooo cute. She knows it though:(
-
because they're so furry and adorable♥
-
The ratio of distance between eyes, nose, mouth and all that jazz subconsciously reminds people of babies.
-
I think humans have grown to be quite attached and feel strong emotions for smaller beings, especially those with fur. The emotional bond, which may drive a 'feeling' of cuteness for a dog or cat is also probably (in the case of a dog) related to the protective role dogs - even cute ones - served over the course of evolution.

we think their cute because their so f l u f f y ( : and their so different
