avoid the stopovers...take a non-stop flight (and don't confuse it with a direct flight--they are not the same thing).

Stop overs..

Who cares? Shoot em up with Ridalin and shove them in the overhead compartment.

Normally I would say a non-stop would be better, it does depend on the length of the flight. As you have said it's a 14hour flight with a 3 hour stop-over.. you would likely end up off the plane anyway during that stop. Also, much depends on what you are taking on the flight with you. make sure you bring what you need but don't over weight yourself or it will be tough to get on and off the flight. take a stroller, but not a big one, something that you can take onboard, and during the stopover will have something to wheel your child around in, or at least have them sleep in. make sure you bring something for the child to suck on during take offs and primarily landing when the cabin pressure changes, as this can effect the ears - you can change "clear your ears" but your child cannot without some assistnce like swollowing or sucking on something.

It depends on the length of the flights and on the baby. My daughter was a great traveler at 5 months. Mainly because she always required (and still does) a lot of sleep. Just use your intuition, you'll make the right decision.

everyones probably gonna hate me for this so I pre-apologise if my opinion offends you but I hate when people take very young babies on flights unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. Its a selfish act that leaves most other passengers with a headache and no other option than to stay awake as its impossible to sleep through babies screaming. Its even more irritating when they are taking the child on holiday because the baby doesent care if its on holiday or back home being babysat so who are the parents doing it for? Sorry again if you disagree but wanted to put it out there.

I believe it is best to do non-stops for adults or children whenever possible. Each extra landing and takeoff has its own issues and potential issues and your goal should be to get from point A to point B as quickly and efficiently as possible.
