  • Instinct and they read the book.
  • A lot of dumb people survive, but I know what you mean. Most other animals have senses that are a lot sharper than ours, plus they have the agility and physical abilities and instincts to help them hunt. Often live in groups that help them survive. And sometimes individual animals don't get along fine, they die of starvation or thirst, and are very often, hundreds of millions of times a day (times 300 million years of life on earth) animals are caught and eaten.
  • Humans come with little in the way of pre-programmed instinct: in exchange, we have much greater adaptability and capacity for learning. A bee knows almost everything it will ever know when it hatches, and is highly adapted for very specific behaviors. Humans know very little by comparison, and have to learn a lot. But the bee has very limited potential: it's future is given almost entirely by it's instincts. Our future is wide open.
  • Who says animals are dumb? Watch them yourself. You will find that they are a lot smarter than you imagined. They just have different requirements for survival and their 'smarts' are more geared to their needs...not ours.
  • Your question contains the answer to the question. The smarter one is the more one thinks, and the more one thinks the more one is able to distinguish between nice and ugly, poor and rich, nice or mean, etc.
  • Have you ever been to a Walmart on a saturday morning? Humans are not that bright. Spend a week in the woods, and you will learn quickly that you will have an easier time there by watching and learning from the animals. I've never seen a wild animal spend $50 for a "pet rock" or "Chia pet".
  • wait...paris hilton does survive her life VERY well..hahaha and compare to britney spears, my cat has no problem to feed and taking care of her more-than-two-kittens
  • Well, they may not be anywhere near as 'smart' as us, but they may have massive great muscles, huge claws, long teeth, be extremely fast, or well camouglaged etc. etc. We humans are (relatively for our size) weak, slow, soft, possessed of average eyesight, smell and hearing and have no protection against extreme weather. If we weren't damn smart, we'd be damn dead...
